Also known as Sinfonia 14, BWV 800.
History
Sinfonia No. 14 in B-flat major, BWV 800 belongs to Bach's three-part Sinfonias. The earlier teaching notebook for Wilhelm Friedemann was begun in Köthen on 22 January 1720. Bach made a separate fair copy of the collection in 1723, revising its presentation and order. These dates mark stages in the collection's history, not the exact day this individual piece was composed. The collection reached print in 1801, long after Bach's lifetime.

What to listen for
Three overlapping entries
Follow the closely spaced subject statements near the culmination.
How to practise it
Held entry and short movement; inner tie into movement.
- Count to the later upper entry and keep its held note distinct from the following run.
- Practise the tied beginning without adding an extra attack at its continuation.
How hard is it
Syncopated ties, sixteenth-note turns and independent entries overlap in all three lines. Staff-crossing notation in the middle voice adds a reading and coordination problem beyond simple hands-together rhythm.
