Also known as BWV 858 Fuga; Prelude and Fugue in F-sharp major, BWV 858; The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I No. 13.
History
An upper line alternates eighth notes with a small, tightly packed flourish. Keep its bounce while a second line appears underneath. Practise the ornaments as part of the phrase, so the six-sharp setting feels like a familiar pattern under the fingers.

How to practise it
- Group the opening short-note flourish, then return smoothly to the longer eighth-note pulse.
How hard is it
The 35-measure component uses a six-sharp signature, 536 sixteenth and48 thirty-second note/rest elements, and multiple voices from measure3. Quick changes of note length and independent lines make an advanced estimate more useful than treating the cheerful sound as easy.
