What to listen for

  1. Held pairs above an inner continuation

The introduction combines held upper pairs with moving inner notes and detached lower sounds. Listen for the motion inside the held texture.

  2. Repeated notes launch higher answers

Upper repeated-note chatter leads into rising responses over short lower chords. Hear the direction of each small launch.

  3. The chatter returns with changed chords

Repeated-note figures come back in writing above altered lower support. Recognise the familiar motion while noticing the new chord colour.

  4. Higher launches finish with a short release

The closing flourish rises through successive launches before a strong short F and rest. Hear the final release without stretching it into a held ending.

How to practise it

Let the sustained introduction turn into nimble repeated-note figures.

  1. Practise the held pair and the following two notes with independent releases.
  2. Practise the three C positions slowly, preserving the opening and ending rests.

How hard is it

Level 4, estimated

La Babillarde is provisionally a lively-character target within the acquired Op. 100 subset.
