What to listen for
Broken figures reach the first repeat
The opening broken-note figures lead toward the first repeat close. Hear their larger phrase rather than a chain of separate arpeggio attacks.
Higher figures change the pitch groups
The contrasting continuation begins higher and develops changing pitch groups. Compare its direction with the opening.
Two ending routes have different purposes
The source separates first and second endings before the closing continuation. Hear which response returns and which points toward the tail.
The last close uses slower wording
The final region carries slower words after the earlier rise and descent. Hear the settling gesture without converting edition text into a prescribed practice speed.
How to practise it
Hear the broken figures passing between the lower and upper layers.
- Keep each layer's rests in its own rhythm.
- Hear the lower opening as a lead-in to the upper figure.
How hard is it
L'harmonie des anges is a provisional texture-and-balance target in the developing-student catalog.
