History
The Paris Chopin Society places the twelve-study Op. 10 collection between 1829 to 1832 and records its first publication in 1833. A later Richault print, catalogued around 1860, names Franz Liszt as the set's dedicatee. The collection range does not give each study an independent completion year.

How to practise it
Keep the chromatic upper sixteenths clear while the lower detached chords stay light.
- Practise four adjacent pitches at a time, overlapping the last pitch into the next group before joining the ascent.
- Alternate the two lower chord shapes slowly with their written rests, then combine them with a short upper segment.
How hard is it
Chromatic upper-finger motion against simultaneous chordal support creates exceptional independence and endurance demands.
