The short answer
A prelude in a collection shaped over several years. Prelude in Op. 28, No. 9 is a prelude by Frédéric Chopin from the Romantic era. PlayPiano puts it at Level 6, an estimate.

History
PTNA's account places the beginnings of some Op. 28 preludes around 1836 and reports completion of the collection in Mallorca in 1838. The autograph collection was sent to Paris in January 1839, and publication followed in 1839. This is a history of the set, not evidence that every prelude began on the island.

What to listen for
A broad line rides above triplets
The dotted upper statement moves above a flowing inner triplet stream and separated lower arrivals. Hear the longer line and the smaller continuing motion as distinct layers.
The middle climbs more forcefully
Changed starting notes lead into a stronger upward movement before the response falls. Follow that broad rise and fall through the busy inner texture.
Sharper dots lead to the last chord
Opening-related material returns with more sharply dotted printed values, then rises and settles into the final chord. Compare its changed rhythm with the earlier broad statement.
How to practise it
Written dotted melody; scaled accompaniment versus midi branch.
- Count the displayed melody rhythm before adding another layer.
- Maintain a three-subdivision support pulse, and do not assume the engraved melody expression is the selected MIDI generation branch.
How hard is it
Weighty chordal writing needs differentiated voicing, controlled attacks and sustained phrase direction.
