History
Pine Apple Rag appeared in 1908, during Joplin's prolific ragtime years. A surviving score catalogued by the Library of Congress names Seminary Music Co. as publisher and labels it a piano rag, a reminder that this music circulated as sheet music for players at home, not only as a performance style.
