What to listen for
The introduction's two tracks move together, but some notes are held across the regular pulse. The later upper tune breaks away above a lower bass-and-chord pattern. Keep the longer introductory notes alive so the melody does not sound like a row of disconnected short attacks.
How to practise it
- Count through the introductory notes that begin at quarter positions 0.75 and 1.25 and last 0.5 and 1.25 quarters. Do not shorten the latter merely because another beat has arrived.
- In the second window, prepare the lower transition from bass pitches 41/53 to chord pitches 57/60/65, then back to 48. Use a quiet, relaxed travel motion and add the upper tune only once the landings are reliable.
