What to listen for
A running opening receives a higher answer
The upper figures return at a higher register. Hear their related shape through the expanded placement.
Upper contours alternate over lower runs
Different upper gestures sit above continuous lower motion. Listen to the longer responses through the running foundation.
A high expansion leads into descent
The later upper movement grows high and then falls. Follow its wider phrase shape.
Lower running material returns at the end
The last lower recall completes the continuation. Hear its familiar motion without adding a Da capo command.
How to practise it
Keep the returning scale pattern smooth as the range expands.
- Practise the second half of each measure separately, then compare the two endings.
- Practise the lower entry from the preceding silent measure, then add the upper line.
- Connect the examined opening at a comfortable tempo only when its separate layers feel settled.
How hard is it
No. 9 is provisionally a further velocity-study goal. Its1464-note packet prompts sustained-control review; teacher placement is still unresolved.
