What to listen for
Lower motion prepares expanding upper figures
Moving lower notes begin before the upper figures broaden. Hear their support remain active underneath.
New pitch groups lead into lower continuation
The continuation changes pitch groups and moves below. Follow its direction through the register shift.
Higher motion grows before descending
The later higher continuation expands and then falls. Hear the turn in its larger phrase shape.
A soft higher recall grows toward the close
The opening-related figure returns softly above before the ending strengthens. Compare its energy with the first entry.
How to practise it
Keep the lower pattern even as upper chords join.
- Practise one eight-note cycle quietly, then link two cycles.
- Practise the upper two chord attacks, then add them over an unchanged lower pulse.
- Connect the examined phrase at a comfortable tempo while keeping its stated layers and releases distinct.
How hard is it
Extended finger-dexterity patterns require even articulation, efficient coordination and stamina as tempo increases while maintaining controlled musical phrasing.
