Questions

What does BPM count in 6/8?

In 6/8, 9/8, 12/8 and 7/8 this metronome counts the eighth note, so 120 BPM is two clicks a second and a 6/8 bar is six clicks, with the second group of three accented. To get dotted quarter beats a minute, divide the BPM by three: 120 is 40. The tempo name follows the dotted quarter in 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8, and 7/8 shows none because it has no single beat.

How do I find a tempo by tapping?

Tap the Tap tempo key in time with the music. It averages your last four taps and starts again if you pause for more than two seconds. Keep this tab open while you play.
