History
K. 15i is item 9 of the London notebook: the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe lists it as a keyboard piece in A major. Mozart wrote these short ideas while the family was in London in 1764; the newer Köchel catalogue connects much of the notebook with Leopold Mozart's serious illness there. This is a notebook component, not a movement from a finished published sonata cycle.

What to listen for
Long sound, short answer
The upper chord lasts before a small descending answer. Hear the difference in note lengths while keeping the source’s three-quarter-note pulse connected.
The lower rest leaves space
Lower A notes change register, then a written rest creates space under the upper phrase. Keep that space audible rather than filling it with an extra attack.
How to practise it
- Play the upper opening chord for its full written length, then the descending answer. Repeat with the lower notes added, keeping the held chord from becoming another attack when the lower register moves.
- Practise the lower A register changes alone, counting through the written rest without adding a note. Add the upper phrase and keep that same empty space.
How hard is it
Long upper chords give way to short descending notes while the lower line alternates octave-separated A notes and a rest. Its compact length helps, but balanced chord releases and coordinated register changes still matter.
