History
K. 15r is item 17 of the London notebook: the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe lists it as a keyboard piece in G minor. Mozart wrote these short ideas while the family was in London in 1764; the newer Köchel catalogue connects much of the notebook with Leopold Mozart's serious illness there. This is a notebook component, not a movement from a finished published sonata cycle.

What to listen for
Short steps above a slower voice
The first upper group climbs G, A, B-flat; the next continues higher. Hear that ascent above the slower voice’s change of register.
The line changes direction
The third upper group jumps down from D before returning toward C. Shape the change of direction while the slower voice supports the compact pulse.
How to practise it
- Play the G, A, B-flat group followed by the higher C, D, E-flat group alone. Add the slower voice and check its register change without interrupting the upper ascent.
- Play the upper D, A, C figure alone until its downward jump and return are connected. Add the slower supporting note and hold its written value through the upper changes.
How hard is it
Upper eighth-note groups continue over longer notes in a separate voice, with changes of register and harmony across75 encoded source measures. The main demand is steady phrase balance, not a high level inferred from length alone.
