Also known as W. A. Mozart Minuet in C Major K1f..
History
The familiar label K. 1f refers to the second of two early keyboard pieces now grouped in the catalogue as KV 1,01 and KV 1,02. The current catalogue places these pieces in the Nannerl notebook and dates them to 1764. We keep the familiar label searchable without pretending the new catalogue has a separate K. 1f entry.

What to listen for
A leap receives a decorated answer
The opening leap connects to a short ornamented response. Hear their paired gesture within the phrase.
Higher responses reach a shortened close
The first span rises before its shorter-meter repeat close. Hear the release without flattening the local grouping.
Decorated figures return in changed pitches
The second span develops related ornaments in new pitch groups. Recognise the opening shape through the colour change.
Higher sequences descend toward the ending
Sequential responses rise and then descend to the final repeat. Follow their larger route across the small figures.
How to practise it
Keep the small upper gesture clear above the separate supporting voices.
- Treat the short opening gesture as a lead-in.
- Keep repeated notes even.
- Hear the two lower layers separately.
How hard is it
Short dance phrases develop steady pulse, coordinated note changes and clear phrase endings.
